Civic Engagement Launchpad 2018: Demo Night

Details
Demo Night is brought to you in partnership with Technically, Azavea, High Brew, and Digital Ocean.
This event is free, but RSVP is required. Space is limited.
We’re changing the way city government works with tech and data. You can too!
At Code for Philly, you don’t need to be a technologist to be a civic hacker. It takes a team with a set of diverse talents, perspectives, and experience to make a civic tech project successful.
We’re coming together to improve democratic systems and creating tools for greater civic engagement at our month-long event, Civic Engagement Launchpad.
Demo Night is the culmination of the hard work teams have devoted to developing their civic tech projects. Teams have an opportunity to present their results to a panel of experts.
All Code for Philly work must be civic in nature and use an open source license for the code.
What We’re Looking for in Projects:
- Increases civic engagement
- Helps residents engage with local government or the democratic process
- Uses data or technology to improve the lives of residents
Panelist:
- Sara Hall, Product Lead with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Open Data and Digital Transformation
- Lauren Lockwood, Researcher and Digital Services Consultant, Former Chief Digital Officer for the City of Boston
- Shilla Saebi, Open Source Program Manager, Comcast
- Mark Wheeler, Interim CIO for the City of Philadelphia
