Tagalog is the official language of The Philippines. Did you know there are several native languages spoken there, depending on region/island?
I spent my childhood in a rural part of Rizal, lived my teen years in the SouthBay not knowing how to speak English (scary!), went to college in the OC and settled in the SFV. Whew!
I fully understand how difficult it is to teach my kids a foreign language (especially in a mixed-race household). I’m hoping this group can jump start a new appreciation of our mother tongue, practice/learn Tagalog in a casual way.
This is also a place to share & read Tagalog books: from children’s books to simple phrases, etc.
