What weβre about
Coffee Connections is a group for anyone under 50 who is new or familiar to Glasgow, wishes to meet new people and make friends in a relaxed, welcoming environment over a cup of coffee/tea.
We aim to achieve this with regular meetups in familiar places as well as exploring the many interesting cafes Glasgow has. This group is also ideal for those wanting to practice their conversational English in a real-life environment.
We look forward to seeing you and if you know any cafes or places we could meet up, please tell us. π We hope to see you soon.
To maintain our friendly community, we will need to see your face in your profile photo and answer our series of short questions. The acceptance or declining join requests is entirely at the discretion of the group organisers. We will not accept any requests if your photo doesn't include your actual face and no, your avatar doesn't count.
By being a member of this group, you agree to the following rules:
- We expect our members to treat each other with respect, to communicate with the event hosts especially if you cannot attend the event and of course, enjoy yourself!
- Anyone whose conduct is malicious, deceptive, unacceptable and/or goes against treating others with respect may be suspended or banned from the group.
- To remain a Coffee Connections member, we expect you to attend at least one meetup in a 12 month period. Otherwise you can be removed from the group. If this happens, you are welcome to rejoin the group when you're ready to join our meetups.
- If you're unable to attend a meetup after initially RSVPing, then please change this and/or let the event hosts know asap. This is courteous to the hosts, your fellow group members and also helps the event host to gauge attendance.
- Those who are no shows (who don't turn up and did not change their RSVP/did not communicate their inability to attend to the event host) on 3 occasions in a 12 month period will be removed from the group.
- To ensure greater consistency in meetup turnout and to reduce likelihood of last minute dropouts, our meetup RSVPs open five days before the scheduled meetup and close 24 hours before. Once RSVPs closed, if you cannot make the meetup, let the host(s) know by either a comment on the meetup page, a message in the event chat or DM the host(s).
