INVESTOR PANEL

ALOK NANDAN

Alok Nandan is a Managing Partner at Emergent Ventures, an early stage venture capital fund investing in Seed to Series A tech startups located in the United States and India.

Previously, Alok was an advisor to several high growth tech startups and was a Director of Product at TempoAI, a startup backed by top tier VCs like Relay Ventures, Sierra Ventures, Qualcomm, Mayfield and HorizonVentures. TempoAI was later acquired by Salesforce.

Earlier, Alok led product teams at YuMe (IPO: NYSE), a company backed by top tier VCs like Accel, Khosla Ventures and Samsung Ventures. He joined YuMe at an early stage and experienced its evolution into a public company going IPO on NYSE.

Alok also held multiple product management roles at Microsoft, with the last one being Founding PM of Windows Azure, for which he received the Gold Star Award (given to top 1% of Microsoft staff). Earlier in his career he also worked at Intel and several tech startups. Alok is also a co-inventor of three technology patents.

Alok holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, a Masters degree and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA.

ROGER RAPPOPORT

Roger Rappoport is an independent Angel Investor making 6-7 personal investments per year and overseeing hundreds of funding rounds and acquisitions as Partner at Procopio. He is also the Leader of Procopio's Emerging Growth and Technology.

He has extensive experience in investing and advising startups and emerging growth companies in the information technology, telecommunications, life sciences and cleantech industries.

Roger is a frequent speaker and panelist on topics and issues related to the development and implementation of a company's formation and funding strategy.

Before attending law school, he was the founder of a technology company with $10 million in revenue.

Roger is very connected with investors in Silicon Valley and beyond. He has advised many startups on multi-million funding rounds and M&A transactions.
