For women only: cold water plunge and socializing
Details
Hi All,
Let's start the tribe to fight autumn and winter depression, stress, and anxiety with caring and warm guidance.
All body sizes are welcome.
It is a good time to start preparing our bodies for winter plunges: exposing ourselves gradually to cold water that isn't freezing cold yet. Especially good for beginners.
Location has changed: due to closer proximity to a cafe.
📜 "Program": We will start with a warm-up and breathing exercises, before we head into the water (it is okay to observe too).
💡 Recommendation: to wear a swimsuit/pants whenever you arrive or before warm-up. So, that you won't lose warmth while changing, we will go into the water right after warm-up. To have an effect: we will stay in water at least for 20-40 sec.
And afterwards: warming up with a hot drink (no caffeine, no sugar) in a nearby cafe Trollvannstua, chatting with new people, and sharing the experience together.
The event will be held in English.
What to bring:
- hot beverage (herbal tea) and water (no caffeine, no sugar)
- snacks (with protein, nuts etc.)
- additional warm/wool clothes, socks
- towel
- regular wool socks for entering water (it helps)
- please wear something loose and woolen close to your body, especially after swimming
💡 Important considerations:
- If you have pre-existing medical conditions, high blood pressure, asthma, or a heart condition, are during pregnancy - consult a healthcare professional before starting cold water exposure.
- No bathing if you have a cold, fever, or otherwise feel uncomfortable or if you have health concerns.
- No bathing under the influence of alcohol, medicine or drugs.
✨ Anonymous and voluntary donations (45 NOK and up+) are welcome, so that I can organize more free sessions (Free for students and unemployed); I won't check: Vipps 46239371. Thank you for your support.
