> Meet Brian O'Keefe
I'm really excited to introduce you to Brian O'Keefe, User Experience Architect & Researcher and Assistant Professor of Interaction Design at Farmingdale State College.
Brian will tell us about his work on Blended Experiences.
Designing Blended Experiences provides a structured way of thinking about how digital and physical spaces can be brought together to create new Mixed Reality products services and systems. In this presentation Brian will describe the development of an augmented reality app funded by the New York Council on the Arts. He shows how the blended spaces framework tool was used to guide the development of the app and provide evaluation data that highlights the effective UX that resulted.

Brian is currently an Assistant Professor of Interaction Design, leading State University of New York’s first undergraduate Interaction Design Program (Mixed Reality, User Experience, User Interface and Instructional Design).
Brian has commercialized devices, apps and services (e.g., mobile, tablet, kiosk and web) for fortune 100 companies, patented numerous technologies, won grant awards, published research papers, exhibited interactive artwork, presented at international conferences and won several commercial and academic awards for the advancement of user experience design.
In 2007, Brian earned his PhD in Telematics and the Information Society (Human Computer Interaction) from the University of Florence, Italy.
In 2002 he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic and interaction design from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.
