Welcome to the Colorado Liberation Collective (CLC) Meetup.com group!
CLC is focused on advancing collective liberation for all sentient beings in Colorado & beyond.
We are a trans-affirming, anti-oppression community of feminists and activists who care about animals, liberation, and gender equality. We are open to vegans, vegetarians, and anyone interested in learning more about animal activism and its intersections with other causes.
While we do not require that you be vegan outside of our space, we do request that you be vegan within the space. This means no meat or other animal products will be consumed within our space.

Join Colorado Liberation Collective and Casa de Paz for an afternoon of community, care, and creativity as we write postcards and make art for immigrants currently detained at the ICE detention center in Aurora.
š Why it matters:
A letter can bring hope, connection, and comfort to someone enduring the inhumanity of detention. Many of the people held at the Aurora ICE detention center are asylum seekersāyoung, far from home, and locked up without having committed any crime. They're often detained thousands of miles from their families, without access to phones, the internet, or the resources to stay in touch with loved ones.As animal lovers, weāre used to opposing animal cages, and these are cages too. No one belongs behind bars for seeking safety.
In this environment of isolation and uncertainty, a simple postcard or drawing becomes something powerful: a reminder that they are seen, cared for, and not alone.
As one 19-year-old asylum seeker from Liberia shared:
> āWhen I received my first letter from a Casa de Paz volunteer, I had been detained for 4 months. For the first time in detention, I had hope. Each night, I read the letters I have received, I sleep with them, and I read them again when I wake up. Doing so reminds me that I am not alone and that someone cares about me.ā
This is a small act that can mean everything. Come help us send that message of care.
š The event will take place at a cozy apartment space in Capitol Hill (near 13th & Downing). Postcards, art supplies, and vegan snacks to keep you creative will be provided.
