Two-way radio recommendation and discussion.

Disregard the date of this event. This is strictly for communication purposes.

I have posted this event to offer a recommendation and discussion on two-way radios. Please feel free to post your questions in the comments.

I’ve had several requests from club members on a recommendation for a quality two-way radio for club rides.

Having a working radio provides an added level of safety for not only for you, but other riders in your group. All of you have probably experienced situations where your group gets split up due to mechanical breakdowns or missed hand signals. A radio can make all the difference to keep us all together

The cheap “blister pack” radios tend to be underpowered. And the higher end commercial style radios require programming

Below is a link to $99 radio from Amazon that has 5 watts of power and will support all the club channels right out of the box, no programming required.

This radio is also compatible with Baofeng radio accessories.

Special thanks to Doc “our resident Ham radio guy” for the recommendation

Pete
