Hello! If you sign up for the Moab 2024 trip this is for the pot luck! Dinner will be at 6p over at the archview community fire pit area. There is some cover in case of rain.

Please bring a dish to share. It might be good to bring your own plate and utensils as well. Don't forget a napkin!

Memorial Day weekend marks the official beginning of the riding season. We have a big camping area with a lot of trails in either direction. There is no restriction on width of machines.

Directions:
Make your way to Poncha Springs from Denver area via 285 or from Colo Sprgs via 50. -Head south on 285 out of Poncha Springs to the Town of Saguache. -At the Sinclair Gas Station (in Saguache) continue straight onto CO-114w/Gunnison Ave. -Drive for appr. 15 miles. -Turn left at the corral and the sign for La Garita onto County Rd 41G. Drive for approx. 10 miles. -Watch for signs all along the road until the one pointing to a left turn down 32U at the sign of Carnero Pass/StormKing CC/Highway 114.
We will have a potluck Saturday night. The club will not be providing the main course for this event. We will have happy hours each afternoon at the conclusion of the rides. If there is no fire ban, please bring firewood for the nightly campfires.
Rides will be started around 9:00 am each day.

Let's change up the venue this year

This area is the western most part of the 717 area, It’s about 6 miles north Florissant (North West of Divide). The club has camped in this same area last year, We should be able to make room for 10 rigs. It’s a popular spot, so we should try to get up early. GPS location 39.02696, -105.27846

Take US24 to Divide if you are coming from the east. If you traveling west on US24, travel to Florissant

Please note that odometer miles are accumulative.

From Divide: reset your odometer, From the intersection light of US24 & 67 go north on CR5

At 0.4 of a mile stay left (west) at the “Y” on CR51. Stay on CR51 at 3.4 miles turn right and stay on CR 51. Continue on CR51, pavement turns to dirt at 7.0, miles, at 9.3 miles stay left. At 10.0 miles stay left at the yield sign, the road gets rough. For bigger rigs stay in the center of the road and watch for tree limbs. At 10.8 miles the campsite is on the Left

From Florissant: At the intersection on Hwy 24 (Thunderbird Restaurant is on the SW corner of the intersection), turn north on CR31 and go north then west for about 0.3 of a mile. Then turn right (north) and take CR3 for about 6 miles, 4 of which is a dirt road but in good shape.

Stay on CR3 until it intersects with CR51. Turn left on CR51 and the campsite is about a mile down the road on the left

Camping: Camping is DRY with no facilities. The camping area a good size with shade and open areas and a great view (may be windy)

Agenda: We will be looking for some members to lead some rides in this area. The rides will be on 717 trails, moderately difficult, and other trails like 362 and 364 that will be easy gravel roads. There are some fun steep gulches that are fun in a SxS or a brave ATV rider. There are a lot of 50” trails, but wider SxS’ will have good areas to ride as well.

Will leave each morning around 9:00 am for a group ride. Depending on group size or desires, if someone would like to lead a more difficult ride that would be great. Bring lunches, snacks, and drinks.

Each attendee must have a paid CQR meetup membership. New members have a 30 day free trial.

We will have Rudy's BBQ for Saturday's dinner. It costs $20.00 each.

Ride: Trail Difficulty in this area ranges from Easy to Difficult. The trail rides will mostly be in the Moderate range with some Difficult in some sections. DOT approved helmets are mandatory for all riders.
