The Causeway Coast in Ireland’s northeast (Northern Ireland) is spectacularly beautiful.
This luxury, fully guided, walking holiday of this beautiful place is slow, authentic travel in a lesser known corner of Ireland.
And if there’s a day you don’t want to walk, no problem. Public buses or taxis can be arranged
Staying in premium properties along the Causeway coast, this will be a feast for the senses.
Tentative Itinerary
Beginning with a welcome night in the Queen’s Quarter of Belfast city and continuing the next day with a transfer to Ballygally on the Antrim Coast road after some time to enjoy Belfast.
Spend each day enjoying guided hiking, in the stunning landscapes from the Antrim Hills to the Causeway Coast way. Enjoy inland cliffs, coastal views, views to Scotland and its islands, visit Rathlin Island. Walk in remote locations and even enjoy the popular Causeway site by seeing most of it far away from the crowds. Throw in beaches, castle ruins, waterfalls, rope bridges, the world’s oldest whiskey distillery, some Game of Thrones filming locations and great Irish pubs, people and hospitality throughout.
Day One
August 22 - stay Malone Hotel
Arrive to Malone Hotel Belfast mid afternoon in the beautiful Queen’s Quarter in south Belfast.
Day Two
August 23 - stay Ballygally Hotel
Take the morning to enjoy some of Belfast before a private group transfer to our hotel in the afternoon. One part of the building dates from 1625 and claims to have a resident ghost to welcome you! Meet our hiking guide for welcome dinner.
Day Three
August 24 - stay Ballygally Hotel
Join our hiking guide and coach for a short transfer to the trailhead above Ballygally for a stunning walk down into the village of Glenarm a delightful old fishing village with a castle still in use.
Day Four
August 25 - stay Salt House Hotel
Walk in the breathtakingly beautiful Glenariff Forest Park for 8 miles.
Day Five
August 26 - stay Salt House Hotel
Private transfer from the Salt House to Fairhead and Murlough Bay.
Day Six
August 27 - stay Salt House Hotel
A gentler and much shorter walking day (6 miles) – we will take the early morning ferry from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island.
Day Seven
August 28 - stay Bushmills Inn
Including walking to and crossing the Carrick A Rede rope bridge and then walking the coast to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Giant’s Causeway
Day Eight
August 29 - stay Bushmills Inn
Transfer out to Portstewart by public bus and begin the final hike with your guide at the promenade.
Day Nine
August 30
Private group transfer to Belfast.
