What we’re about
We are an informal group of active traders, investors, and individuals interested in the markets that seek to meet on a regular basis to talk shop, network, and learn from each other over some beers and laughs.
We each have different skills, experience, and capitalization levels, but we can all learn from each other and have fun while enjoying each others' company.
We are open to everyone with an interest in pulling money from the markets!
We try to meet one a month in or near Downtown Denver and once per month in or near Downtown Boulder.
Join us, we'd love to meet you!

Hello fellow Spirit Animal traders,
I started this meetup group back in January 2013. Hard to believe it’s been over 12 years of monthly—and now twice-monthly—gatherings. Amazing.
Over the years, more than 1,300 unique individuals have come through this community. Some became regulars who are still with us today. Some pop in once in a while. Others joined us just once and moved on. But every single person who’s passed through has left an imprint—on me, and on everyone else who’s crossed their path here. This group has always been more than just about trading. It’s been about connection.
I created this group to hold space for like-minded people to come together and support one another. And that support goes far beyond trading.
We all need community. Whether you’re here to learn more about the markets, get better at what you’re already doing, or just connect with people who understand this path—we’re here for each other. That’s what this group has always been about, and always will be.
It doesn’t matter how experienced or green you feel. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been trying to pull money from the markets, what strategies you use, or even how you define success. What matters is that we’re stronger together. And it’s deeply reassuring to know we’re not alone—wherever we are in our journey.
My promise to you is to keep holding this space. And to keep experimenting with new ways for us to connect—whether it’s our traditional meetups, trail hikes, intimate small-group conversations, or just hanging out to laugh and be ourselves.
Speaking of which—some of you know that I perform with an improv comedy group in Longmont. The four people I perform with are, in my totally biased but deeply held opinion, the smartest and most talented improvisers in Colorado. Maybe even the entire Mountain Time Zone.
Our next show is Saturday, July 12th at 7:30pm at Jester’s Dinner Theater on Main Street in Longmont. I’d love to see some familiar faces in the audience. It’s a cheap, fun night out—tickets are just $12, the theater serves food and drinks, and there’s truly not a bad seat in the house. That said, it only seats 110 and we usually sell out, so don’t wait too long if you’re interested. Please get your tickets ahead of time to make sure there's a seat for you. You can grab tickets here.
Come on out for some laughs and something a little different on a Saturday night in the humble burg of Longmont.
I’d love to see you there.

Ok people. It's time.
We're gathering for the first time in Lyons, CO --- the humble, beautiful, magical little music town I call home.
On Thursday, July 24 --- let's gather on the side patio at Mainstage Brewing.
They have cold beers and the best pizza in the front range.
And even better, our old friend -- World Travelin' Marco -- who some long-time members likely remember (he's the guy in the front of the picture above!), has already pre-paid the bar for pizza for everyone!
So come on out and enjoy friendly conversation with people who speak your language -- the wild vocabulary of market addicts. And enjoy it in the amazing vibe of my small little town.
If we're lucky (and it's likely we will be), there will be some live music to accompany our discussions on the patio too!

I'm frequently asked by many of you what tools I use to manage my options trading. And I'm happy people ask because I have strong opinions on what works for me. Having the right tools can make all the difference in trading. Confidence in the markets comes from experience, strategy, and—just as importantly—using platforms that provide the speed, clarity, and insights necessary to execute trades efficiently. I rely on a handful of trusted tools to help me navigate the markets:
tastytrade
First up is tastytrade, my go-to brokerage platform. It’s built specifically for options traders, and it shows. The interface is incredibly intuitive, trades execute fast, and the customer service is top-notch. While it’s primarily focused on options, you can also trade stocks, futures, and even crypto. If you’re looking for a broker designed with options traders in mind, tastytrade is tough to beat.TrendSpider
When it comes to charting, TrendSpider is my tool of choice. I love its clean charts and the ability to highlight key levels, set alerts, and annotate my setups. It also offers an incredible array of indicators, watchlist features, and automated analysis tools. If you’ve watched my weekly Live Options Jam Session, you’ve seen these charts in action—they help me stay organized and on top of market trends.Trade-Ideas
For those trading on short, intraday timeframes, Trade-Ideas is an essential tool. It gives me real-time alerts based on customized parameters, dynamically updating watchlists, and deep scanning capabilities to spot opportunities as they develop. This platform is a must-have for traders looking to react quickly to market movements.thinkorswim (by Charles Schwab)
One tool I use daily is thinkorswim, specifically its powerful Analyze tab. This feature allows me to visualize how my various options spreads will make or lose money across different price ranges. Having a clear, visual representation of my trades helps me better manage risk and make informed decisions before entering or adjusting a position. If you’re serious about options trading, thinkorswim’s analysis tools are invaluable.YNAB (You Need a Budget)
This one isn’t a trading platform, but it’s been a game-changer for me. Keeping my daily finances organized has freed up mental space to focus on trading. When I know my bills and expenses are handled, I can focus on executing my best ideas in the market. YNAB makes budgeting simple, and honestly, it’s made a huge difference in my financial life.
