Description:
Humans have eaten mushrooms for centuries to support cognition, immunity, energy, and stress resilience. Today, fungi are having a moment in wellness and medicine. If you’ve seen Fantastic Fungi, you know why.
Join Erin Witter, Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator, for an evidence-based introduction to functional and medicinal mushrooms, presented by the Colorado Psychedelic Society.
What we’ll cover:
🍄 Functional Mushrooms 101. What sets functional mushrooms apart from culinary ones, what “adaptogen” means, and how they’re being promoted as modern day healing systems.
🍄 A tour of key species. Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Chaga, Maitake, Shiitake, Oyster, and Turkey Tail: what the research shows, and what you might learn.
🍄 Psilocybin, demystified. How it works in the brain, the current research on depression, end-of-life anxiety, PTSD, and addiction, microdosing vs. high doses, and what psilocybin is not.
🍄 Know the law. How Colorado’s Natural Medicine Health Act works, including licensed facilitators, Healing Centers, and DORA oversight, and how the regulated pathway differs from unregulated use.
Plenty of time for your questions at the end.
Who it’s for: anyone curious about mushrooms for wellness, health professionals, and anyone wanting clear, honest information about psilocybin in Colorado. No experience needed.
This is an educational program only. No psilocybin or other natural medicine is provided, sold, or administered at this event. This is not medical advice; please consult your physician about any supplements or treatments.
