This is so fantastic!! Thank you to everyone who took the time to call and email!! And thank you to Cheryl for letting us know so we could have our voices heard. I wonder how many concerns/complaints they got to cancel so last minute!!
Great news for the day!!

Thank you, Betsy. The event has been canceled. Our Dean has been made aware of this issue and it's been taken care of.

I am writing you to express my utter disgust with the turkey bowling event being held today and tomorrow at the FRCC Boulder campus.  I find it absolutely appauling that with so many families in our community going hungry this Thanksgiving, FRCC chooses to waste food and resources.  After looking over the Mission and Strategic Plan on the FRCC website, I am even more perplexed.  You claim to be recognized for resource development and sustainability?  How is throwing frozen turkeys at bowling pins and then tossing them in a dumpster to rot being resourceful and sustainable? You are committed to fiscal responsibility and efficeincy in all operations? Does that include student activities?  You value community?  What about the members in the community who are struggling to feed their families?  How is this event in any way teaching your students to be responsible citizens of society?

I hope that in the future, you take the time to consider how events such as turkey bowling can negetively reflect you, your institution, and all of the students and alumni-whether they take part or not.

Sincere Regards,
Betsy Farmer
