Applied Futures - the value of storytelling in uncertain times

Details
Last month we had to cancel this event due to the fact that Jorgen and his family contracted COVID. Fortunately everyone is feeling better and Jorgen is looking forward to sharing the experience and how it has shifted his perspective.
We're hosting a special meetup on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the future of work, organizations, arts and business. Using the applied futures framework that was developed by Minkowski we will map the biggest challenges you could be facing as second waves of infections rise around the world, while at the same time other areas are exiting their lockdowns. What will all of this mean for 2021? How will work and daily life change in the months to come? And how do extended lockdowns into 2021 impact the world of media, arts and entertainment?
During the Meetup we will identify these questions for the future together with Jörgen van der Sloot, who is the founder of Minkowski. The session will have participants engage within an interactive conversational/storytelling format designed to help imagine and explore possible future scenarios.
Jörgen van der Sloot is the founder of Minkowski. He’s helped numerous organizations to make breakthroughs in their thinking and in their perspective on the world, by helping them reframe their strategies by reasoning from a future perspective. He’s interviewed hundreds of scientists, scholars and business leaders on the topics of change, transformation and the future and has developed a methodology to map future possibilities for organizations based on their insights and the work of mathematician Hermann Minkowski. Jörgen has collaborated with many internationally operating organizations in the fields of media and consumer brands, finance and investment, insurance and pensions, education and charity and has hosted sessions for groups of people ranging in size from 1 to 1000 participants, from boardroom to classroom.
Jörgen has talked at TEDx and speaks regularly at other conferences. Jörgen has been collaborating with Columbia University School of the Art’s Digital Storytelling Lab since it was founded. He also holds an advising position at a Wall St investment firm and is an executive coach to various senior leaders in the business world.
