Actors’ Theater of Columbus: EMMA at Schiller Park!

Join us as we get together for the fun summertime tradition of live outdoor theater! For this event, we’ll be seeing The Actors’ Theatre of Columbus and their fresh, funny, feminist take on the Jane Austen classic, EMMA! Here are details and our plan:

DESCRIPTION: EMMA is a fresh, wildly funny, feminist take on Jane Austen’s beloved heroine. Too clever for her own good, Emma decides to find the perfect romantic match for everyone around her, but can’t find a partner for herself. Writer Hamill captures Austen’s wit, language, and flirtatious charm in a romantic comedy for all and should be a perfect show for a picnic at the park.

PARKING: Schiller Park is a beautiful little park located in the heart of historic German Village. Parking is available in the paved lot at the Schiller Recreation Center or on city streets surrounding the park.

WHAT TO BRING: Definitely bring a lawn chair. Food and drinks are allowed (and encouraged). If you’re feeling festive, bring snacks and/or drinks to share! You can find more info here: https://theactorstheatre.org/2025-season/emma/

OFFICIAL CMG T-SHIRT EVENT: Did you get one of our CMG 2024 Tour of Columbus T-Shirts last year? While you can wear them any time, we’ll make certain events Official CMG T-Shirt events where we’ll ALL try to wear them! No shirt, no problem. But wear 'em if you got 'em and it'll help make the group easier to find!

PLAN: Arrive starting by 7pm (the earlier the better) and the performance will begin at 8pm. I’ll try to be there by 6:45pm. Be sure to bring a lawn chair and you’ll find the group behind the walkway, on the far side near the tree. You should be able to find us but I’ll wear my CMG shirt and/or have a sign to help you recognize the group! Performances are FREE and donations will be accepted during the intermission.
