JavaScript Maker Night with Aaron Scarberry, Scott Preston, and you!

We're back! And to kick it off with something a little different, we've got a couple of speakers who are going to show off some more maker-oriented things they've been working on and we're opening up the mic for you to do the same. That's right, open mic show-n-tell! I might even bring my radio gear and show off some packet radio and APRS stuff!

We've scheduled Scott Preston—who showed off his Iron Man suit at CodeMash a few years back and his JavaScript-powered robots at ColumbusJS more than once—and Aaron Scarberry—who likes robots almost as much as Scott does.

Centralize all your tedious web related tasks with JavaScript and RPA. Tired of checking on an order status? Make a robot do it. Need to restart your router every day but hate the interface? Make a robot do it. Anything you need to do repeatedly on the web but can't stand to do it or just can't remember, can be solved with a little bit of JavaScript and some robotic automation.

Real-Time Voice Conversations with ChatGPT with Scott Preston
This year Scott upgraded his 2015 CodeMash voice response and text to speech system for his house. It doesn't use Alexa, but instead uses the Web Speech API and home grown TTS (Text To Speech) Engine. This month with the release of the ChatGPT API, he decided to hook it up and have a voice conversation.

About Scott: Scott is currently working as Principal Software Architect at an undisclosed cyber security company. Prior to that, he worked as a Practice Director at ICC/G20 and as an independent consultant. Scott is also a public speaker speaking at conferences and user groups across the nation on topics about IoT, robotics, artificial intelligence, smart homes, and Iron Man Suits. Scott has also authored several books published by APress and self-published on Amazon.
