Kayak, Canoe, Paddle Board Manasquan Reservoir… with Georgian Feast
Details
Let’s go and have some paddling fun on one of the more popular paddling sites here in NJ – the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell and, then, enjoy some Georgian (think the Balkans in Europe – not “the South” of the U.S.) comfort food at the Georgian Chef.
Not only is the Manasquan Reservoir good-sized and scenic, it also has a rental facility (click on the preceding link for the reservoir’s Website and scroll down to the “Boat/Kayak Rentals” section).
We’ll meet up at 2:30 PM in the main parking lot near the boat ramp (across from the kayak rental facility). Then, we’ll take half an hour/30 min. for everyone to rent their gear, inflate their inflatable watercraft or otherwise prepare to be in the water and ready to go by 3:00 PM. We’ll do a 2-hour circuit of the reservoir and be back at the boat ramp at 5:00 PM. After this, those of us who would like can head over to the Georgian Chef on Rt. 9 for some refreshment and socializing. We’ll get there by 5:30 or 6:00 PM.
As safety measures, bring a BYD (life vest) and a whistle. Also, please note that this is NOT a training or instructional event for any persons who have never been out in a kayak, canoe or paddle board before. All participants must have some basic knowledge of how to operate whichever watercraft s/he intends to use.
As always, attendance at this and all other Meetup events, is at the risk of the attendee who waives all rights to hold any and all event hosts, organizers and leaders liable for any injury, loss or damage sustained in the event of any accident or mishap.
