Road Trip - Stoney Brook trail Stokes Forest 6.8 miles

This one is a bit far for most, so you may want to consider carpoolling. We will travel part of the Appalachian trail past a fire tower to among the best views anywhere in NJ. We will also catch a glimpse of probably the most pristine lake I've seen. The first half of the hike is somewhat difficult, uphill and rocky. The 2nd half is much easier as it gradually goes downward. I would consider this hike moderately difficult and not for beginners. Afterwards, if interested, we will have lunch at the nearby Mountain House Tavern.

You are responsible for knowing your abilty, consider the elevation gain, pace and distance to help judge that.
