Comic Sans Script - Improv Comedy Beginners Course

BEGINNERS COMEDY IMPROV COURSE- starting July 7th at The Strand, Cheltenham at 7pm!

FOR YOU? Want to take up a new interest in 2025 and would enjoy playing fun games in the style of "Whose line is it anyway"? Or want to develop the confidence to perform in front of others, creating funny characters and scenes? Ever wanted to dig deep into the science behind what makes improvised comedy funny? Like to learn from skilled, creative teachers? Or are you simply just looking to boost your self confidence and improve your public speaking skills? Well, this could be for you..

WHAT: We are running an improv comedy course on Monday nights for people looking to sharpen their skills or for complete beginners!

WHO: It's for everyone! We are open to all levels of theatre, stage and performing experience - even if you’ve never stepped foot on a stage, you are more than welcome here!

WHEN: Starts MONDAY, 7th JULY at 7pm, then ongoing on following Mondays

WHERE: We will primarily be doing our workshops at The Strand on the Cheltenham High Street, however occasionally we may perform within the Cheltenham Playhouse. Please be aware that The Strand’s function rooms do require the use of a flight of stairs, and The Playhouse may do the same depending on room availability.

HOW MUCH: £5 a session! We are happy for you to pay weekly or if you’d prefer to pay in one sum that is absolutely fine.

SIGNING UP: Please sign up here on via Meetup. We will have a quick conversation to check you are eligible (eg. If under 18 you must be at least 16, and be accompanied by a parent for the whole session) & asking for your level of Improv experience, If you fit the criteria we will supply bank account details for the first session. If you choose not to pay within a reasonable amount of time, we will take you off the ''going'' list

AFTER Mon 7th JULY: If you like the taster night on the 7th and would like to continue you will then have the opportunity to book other sessions over the following 6 weeks (these will remain at £5 per session)

The number of spaces available on each Monday going forward will be limited by the venue size and number of teachers we have available, but we will do our best to accommodate you as far as we are able.
