After the Break Series: After Withdrawal - Choosing Distance, Staying Open
Details
After Withdrawal - Choosing Distance Without Closing the Heart
There is a phase that comes after the break — when something has already ended, but you are still learning how to be in the world without returning to old patterns.
After Withdrawal is about that in-between state: not disappearing, not repairing, not explaining — but choosing distance deliberately, while remaining human, receptive, and intact.
This evening is for those who are no longer trying to make sense of what happened, but are learning how to live from here.
What this evening is like
This is a gently structured, reflective gathering.
You may spend the evening:
- sitting with short written reflection prompts
- engaging in calm one-to-one conversations with different partners
- listening more than you speak
- choosing silence at times, without explanation
Participation does not require disclosure.
Listening counts. Silence counts. Stepping back counts.
There will be light facilitation and clear transitions, but no fixing, and no pressure to arrive at insight or resolution.
I will hold the space and guide the flow, without interpreting, analysing, or steering conversations toward outcomes.
This space supports:
- learning how to stay open without over-exposing
- noticing what contact feels like when it is no longer compulsory
- sensing where distance protects clarity rather than fear
- allowing meaning to unfold after the event, not during it
Some things only become clear once you have left.
This event is not for those who:
- expect emotional sharing to be encouraged, rewarded, or escalated
- are looking for catharsis, validation, or group affirmation
- want to process their story publicly or receive feedback or advice
- are uncomfortable with pauses, ambiguity, or unresolved endings
This is a space for self-regulation, not emotional performance.
This gathering is part of the After the Break series. Each edition carries a distinct theme and stands on its own.
Contribution: €10 donation upon arrival. All proceeds support room rental.
