If you seek Real Conversations about deep questions inspired by Great Books, welcome to the Commonplace.
This is where we read and discuss books with people from all spheres of life in person in Vancouver, BC Canada.
Each reading group is led by a leader and is conducted in a Socratic seminar format (similar to Oxford tutorials or 'shared inquiry' method) where open-ended conversations are driven by readers about the Great Book. The leader poses a question at the beginning of each session and the readers continue the discussion. In an ideal seminar, the leader takes the back seat and let the readers learn through conversation.
