Joyful, non-performing Community Singing with Sylvia Humble in Parksville at McMillan Arts Centre. Let’s harmonize by ear, connect and have fun! All voices are welcome.

Let your voice rise and weave with community in an experiential singing group aimed at interconnectivity and vocal harmony.

  • Share your voice in a welcoming community group based purely on the joy of singing together in harmony, imperfectly.
  • Sing inspiring, uplifting and healing songs, world music, and songs of peace and hope.
  • Learn to harmonize by ear, and “wing it”. Some songs are taught in 3 or 4 harmony parts, and some are quick and easy; there are no “wrong notes”, and always room to play!
  • Explore your range and try different parts; no-one is pigeon-holed into an assigned section.
  • Enjoy vocal play, songs with actions, and simple body percussion. Chairs are provided but we often like to stand and move around the room.
  • Have a cup of ginger-lemon tea during the 10-minute break, and get to know each other.

## Where and When?

Our Parksville group meets Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:10pm at the McMillan Arts Centre, 133 McMillan Street (upper level). A gorgeous and acoustically brilliant space!

Our “New Year” Season is six weeks, from Feb. 12 - Mar. 19, and the first week is a drop-in OPEN HOUSE (Feb. 12 only); come and see if you love it! There’s no pressure to join; simply come and enjoy.

Humble Harmony is part of the Ubuntu Choirs Network, which believes that singing is a universal birthright and that we can change the world by singing together.
