BIG SING with Humble Harmony

Raise and weave your voice in community, and sing songs of love and freedom with us! ALL VOICES WELCOME regardless of experience - it's about joy and connection, not perfection.

Admission is by cash donation (suggested $10-20)

5:15 pm - song circle; 6:45 - 7:45 pm potluck (optional).

Instead of a concert, each season of my Humble Harmony community singing group ends with a BIG SING, where folks from my three groups in Nanaimo and Parksville gather to share the songs we’ve been learning, and invite the community in to sing along with us! These uplifting songs are easy to learn by ear, with exciting layers of harmony and rhythm. While this is a participatory event, listeners are welcome too (but don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing)!

Join us for heart-opening songs of Love and Freedom (our themes this season), from the community singing movement, "One Love" by Bob Marley, and "Shosholoza" from South Africa. April Laurie will lead some vocal play, and accompany us on percussion.

All are welcome to bring something to share, if you’d like to stay for the potluck and socialize - bring plates and cutlery if you can, to reduce waste. We will be on the main floor of Oliver Woods and we may venture outside!

Humble Harmony is a non-performing, experiential community-singing group focused on the joy of singing in harmony, imperfectly. We have three group locations in Nanaimo and Parksville, and many members come to multiple groups. We are part of the Ubuntu Choirs Network which believes that singing together is a universal human birthright and can make the world a better place.
