Drop in and sing for joy at a Thursday afternoon song circle this summer at Foster Park in Parksville, 4pm, on seven dates:
July 16, 23, and 30
August 13, 20, and 27
September 3
We sing uplifting songs about peace, love, hope, resilience and nature, from the community singing movement - mostly a cappella, with some ukulele and frame drum. Songs are easy to learn, with layers of harmony and rhythm, taught by call & response, with room for creativity and movement. There are no "wrong notes". All voices are welcome regardless of singing experience - it’s about connection, not perfection.
Cost: by donation (suggested $10-20)
We’ll meet at Foster Park (Sanderson Road at Pym St) at the gazebo with it’s brilliant acoustics!
Near the end, I’ll invite participants to share a song for group singing, for those who wish to lead a song.
Please bring water to stay hydrated, and dress in layers for the weather. Rain or shine!
