Acorn Meditation & Raking Work Party with Horses

Print Description: Acorn Meditation & Raking Work Party with Horses
We’re inviting volunteers to join us for a community work morning — an Acorn Meditation & Raking Work Party. The work is simple and surprisingly peaceful: slow, steady raking and gathering of acorns. Horses will eat them if given the chance, but in quantity they are toxic, so removing them helps keep the pasture safe.
Together we’ll work through the oak groves of BEYOND Liberty, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary. It’s a chance to spend a few quiet hours outdoors, help care for the land the horses call home, and contribute to preparing the pasture for the return of Melody and Ruby, the founding mustangs of BEYOND Liberty. They have been off this part of their pasture since November due to the oak trees “masting” — the heavy acorn drop that occurs every few years.
Bring gloves (we have extras if you need them), some water, and a willingness to help. Hands in the earth, community together, and horses grazing nearby. 🐴
Registration required. Register here and you'll be sent directions and gate code: https://BeyondLibertyandPMR.as.me/RakingANDAcorns
