Performance Breathing Series | Fundamental building blocks for excelling your breath practice

Calling all Endurance Runners, Hybrid Athletes, Martial Artists, and High-level performers under stress. No matter what you consider to be a hobby or profession, one universal truth is that the quality of your performance is dependent upon your Breath! Maintaining a breath practice has been greatly underestimated in modern times. This ancient art form can be the gateway to priming optimal performance output, OR the catalyst for disappointment and sub-optimal results.

Learn some of the fundamental ways to harness the power of the breath, and tap into your inner reservoir of endless focus, energy, endurance and strength!
This workshop will be led by Marcus Washington, bringing +12 years of experience coaching Human Performance to Elite Athletes, Elite Military Operators & Military Veterans as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and Certified Biofeedback practitioner.

Learning Objectives:

  • Dissect breathing mechanics to discover and experience the most optimal breath for your performance
  • Explore various types of breath practices (e.g. box, triangle, coherence)
  • Discuss benefits and limitations of various breath practices
  • Learn how the breath benefits physiology + psychology + biology
  • Introduce, define, and experience techniques that facilitate ‘coherence’ internally

What to Bring & Expect:

  • Breath practice is most relevant while seated/ standing/ moving…
  • For your comfort, please bring a Yoga mat/ Bolster/ Yoga blocks/ Sandbag/ Stool/ Folding chair, or whatever can help you comfortably maintain an upright posture when seated
  • Hands-on experiential learning; expect to explore several breathing techniques with some education and discussion along the way
  • Optional: Bring a notebook for notes

  • Sunday, April 27, 2025 @ 4:30p - 5:20p
  • Approximately 15 attendees is ideal
  • This event is Donation Based with a suggested donation of $25 per person, or whatever you can afford at the time. Payment can be made prior to the event via Venmo (marcus-washington-3), or at the event via Cash/ Zelle
  • Workshop provided by Marcus Washington, M.Ed, CMPC, BCB
  • Parking is available in the lot behind the Sweat Equity studio and along adjacent streets
