Celebrate Trails Day Ride April 26
Details
Come ride along on a Saturday afternoon to honor Celebrate Trails Day. Columbia is very fortunate to have a large network of trails to ride throughout the city.
Meet at the Grindstone Trailhead on Old 63 at 3pm. This ride will have a couple of challenges to it, so be prepared--good hydration and nutrition for the day. We will ride the pavement under Old 63 out to the end of that stretch. Then we will turn left towards the commercial intersection at the end of Stadium. We will need to negotiate with traffic, so be aware of cars as you pass through the area. The road continues on around by the Holiday Inn and Kelly Farms residences. That is a bit of a hill, followed by some downhill and onto a neighborhood road. Once we pass under/around/through the neighborhood gate we will have a long downhill. At the bottom of that, make a sharp left turn and back on the trail towards the start.
****Weather forecast says high 60s on Saturday. This parking lot can be full and/or busy on nice weather days, so keep that in mind. I plan to ride my bike from home. If anyone wants to meet at Scott Blvd or Forum or MU Tennis center, let me know in advance and we can meetup.
