Workshop Wednesdays
Computer Deconstruction Laboratory, 2201 Marconi Road, Building 9059, Wall, NJ, USWorkshop Wednesdays
Do you have a project that requires more concentrated time like a long 3D print, or just want to work with minimal interruptions or you can’t make Soldering Sundays or Microcontroller Mondays, then join us on Workshop Wednesdays.
While the primary goal is to support the InfoAge Museum during its hours on Wednesdays, by providing tours of our Lab and our professional Podcast Studio, we will be open for members to work on their projects.
Just like the other days/nights we are open, we support all members no matter their skill set.
CDL Lab Resources: Available for lab use- We have numerous Arduino shields and various displays to experiment with, Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, 3D-printer, CNC machine (undergoing refurbishment) plus, a well-equipped electronics lab.
Beginners welcome: Even if you've never used a microcontroller before, come on in! You can use one from the lab and we'll help set you up with some starter projects.
Our Goal is to teach you the skills that you need to do your own projects.
We teach classes on topics of interest to our members and the public.
BRING: If you have your own laptop, bring it. If you have your own Arduino or other microcontroller to work on, bring it too.
If you do not have a laptop or a microcontroller, that’s OK! Just please state so in your RSVP so We can be sure to have one available for you from our lab.
JOIN: For information about becoming a member of CDL see http://compdecon.org/membership/

Software Development using AI
The class will run for 5 Wednesday night sessions
Wednesday Sept 23, 2026 from 7 to 10 PM
Wednesday Sept 30, 2026 from 7 to 10 PM
Wednesday Oct 7, 2026 from 7 to 10 PM

The class is designed for experienced software developers who want to add AI to their toolkit. Typical experience with a high-level language like C, C++, Python, etc.
All class material will be posted at
https://github.com/Computer-Deconstruction-Lab/Software_Development_using_AI
If you plan to take the class, please review the AI_prerequistes.pdf file to understand how to setup your Windows Laptop.
We will focus on Claude Code for the class. The skills that will be taught are reusable with other AI systems. We will show how the developer can protect their work from AI hallucinations.
As of the development of the class, Claude is the best AI system for software development. But, the lead AI system for development may rapidly change back and forth between multiple competing AI systems.
The students are suggested to plan to build a project on their own as part of the class. Two pdf files are on the github site, for suggested projects: one for microprocessor development, and one for general development. They can also choose their own project not on the list.
This class will NOT cover “Vibe” coding for non-programmers.
The class will be held in the Learning Center in Building 9059 at the InfoAge Science and History Museum 2201 Marconi Road Wall, NJ 07719
The Tuition will be $300 in check or cash collected at the first class. The tuition covers the cost of the use of InfoAge facilities. If possible indicate your intention to take the class by posting on CDL discussion site https://groups.io/g/cdl/topics under the announcement for this class or CDL’s meetup site https://www.meetup.com/compdecon/ under our meetup for the first class.
