About us

Join Us For a New Season of Connect Beyond Club

This year’s Connect Beyond Club will focus on the core values that inspire and influence the events we program throughout the year and during the festival.

We have curated a variety of books, films, music, and more to help us facilitate  thoughtful and meaningful conversations. We’ll be meeting virtually every three weeks on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM starting March 1st. We’ll focus on each core value for 3 meetings with a different piece of curated material as the focus for that meeting.  Meetings will last 75 minutes.

We’re working on securing some of the creators of the material we are using to be a part of our conversations as well. Below are the topics we’ll be discussing and the dates for each one.

We’ve decided to make Connect Club free so that it can be accessible to everyone. For those of you who have contributed through Patreon, thank you for doing so.  If it’s a challenge for you to do so, please don’t feel obligated to. If you would like to support us, you can do so through Patreon or you can do so by donating through Paypal.

Register for Meetings Here.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Curiosity - We’re starting the year by revisiting this theme from last year. After all, it’s important to stay curious throughout life!

March 1st - Film: Daisies (Free Link To Watch on Youtube)

Boredom, bikinis ,and a blistering critique of the beauty myth. From its first seconds, Vera Chytilova’s  Daisies follows the misadventures of two young women both called Marie (played by Jitka Cerhová and Ivana Karbanová), who rebelliously scam rich dates, cut off their own heads and wreck an official feast. The film’s anarchic attitude saw it banned by the Czech authorities and it stayed under wraps for years. An innovative and brilliantly absurd masterpiece of the ’60s Czech New Wave., Daisies is an aesthetically and politically adventurous film that’s widely considered one of the great works of feminist cinema.

March 22nd - Book: Amoralman: A True Story and Other Lies

Truth and lies are two sides of the same coin. But who's flipping it? A thought-provoking and brilliantly entertaining work of nonfiction from one of the world's leading deceivers, the creator and star of the astonishing theater show and forthcoming film In & Of Itself.

Derek DelGaudio believed he was a decent, honest man. But when irrefutable evidence to the contrary is found in an old journal, his memories are reawakened and Derek is forced to confront--and try to understand--his role in a significant act of deception from his past.

A M O R A L M A N is a wildly engaging exploration of the fictions we live as truths. It is ultimately a book about the lies we tell ourselves and the realities we manufacture in others.
