๐Ÿฆ‹ Book Discussion Group: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

We're meeting up to unpack and discuss Matt Haig's celebrated The Midnight Library with a welcoming mix of avid and occasional readers, and a good chat is guaranteed.

There is no agenda to follow โ€” with every reader given room to share what mattered to them, and every reading of the same book turns out to be a different book.

Any amount of reading is welcome, and bring along your favourite passages, and bring your feelings about it โ€” because the book looks completely different through a new set of eyes.

Whether you are a regular or joining for the first time โ€” and the group tends to make first-timers feel at ease very quickly, the only requirement is showing up ready to talk, and first-timers rarely feel like first-timers for long.

---

Pack:

  • Notes from your reading however informal
  • A coffee or tea if you want one during the session
  • Your best questions and your strongest opinions
  • Your copy of the book (physical or digital)

The format:

  • Everyone finds a seat and the discussion opens whenever the group is ready
  • Discussion opens with an initial question and flows from there without a set agenda
  • The evening finishes with a discussion about what to read next

โญ "First session and already booked the next one โ€” the group's takes were so different from mine and that was the point" โ€“ returning reader

๐Ÿ’ก Heads up: write down your honest verdict in one sentence before arriving, because it takes thirty seconds and pays off for the entire session, and you will not regret the two minutes it took.

---
๐ŸŒธ The best part of any book is what happens after the last page โ€” join us and bring your read and the evening takes care of itself once you arrive. The group grows every time someone new joins. ๐ŸŒธ
