Katharine Hepburn Museum

Details
Katharine Hepburn was one of the great icons of American film, but also a lover of Connecticut life. She was born in 1907, in Hartford, to feminist and activist Katharine Houghton Hepburn and Hartford physician Dr. Thomas Hepburn. Even as she gained fame and fortune in Hollywood, she regularly returned to her family’s retreat, Fenwick in Old Saybrook, a place she called “paradise.”
The Katharine Hepburn Museum is the only museum of its kind dedicated to the famed actress. It offers an authentic view of the cultural and historical impact of Miss Hepburn and her family through letters, photos, home movies, costumes, personal wardrobe items, and other memorabilia.
This month, a special exhibition called "Here Comes the Bride" is on display, featuring Kate’s own wedding gown alongside those from several movies she appeared in.
