American Mural Project
Details
The American Mural Project (AMP) is a nonprofit arts center that is home to the largest indoor collaborative artwork in the world - a mural that is 120 feet long and five stories high! A tribute to American workers, the mural is a visual history of the country over the past century, told through its workers—from heart surgeons to steelworkers, athletes to farmers, assembly workers to the fabricators of a Boeing 747.
AMP was founded in 2001 by artist Ellen Griesedieck. The mural was inspired by her work as a painter documenting Americans at work.
This unique work of art is viewable from the 5,000-square-foot ground floor and via the 3,000-square-foot second and third-level platforms.
Join us for a GUIDED TOUR of the mural - making the art come to life with anecdotes about the workers and the artist’s process.
