Melanated Investors Book Discussion: Group Economics & Entrepreneurship

Details

Greetings,

Let's meet again for another Melanated Investors end of the month book discussion (Last Sunday of the Month) focused on group economics, entrepreneurship, and partnerships with those who share similar values. This reveiw series (first discussion January, 31st, 2025) will highlight concepts by Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings'--financial literacy experts, master investors, and founders of the Earn Your Leisure PodCast debut book 'You Deserve to Be Rich' (released January 14th, 2025) as it relates to facilitating financial freedom and economic empowerment in the black community. Chapters include insights on dealing with financial trauma, budgeting, investments, entrepreneurship, the intersection between relationships and money, and setting realistic financial goals--individually, for the larger community, and inclusive to those of different backgrounds (e.g., ethnicity, nationality, gender, SES).

For those interested in attending this end of the month book review and discussion feel free to RSVP. The full book need not be read to participate (read at own pace, specific chapters and/or excerpts will likely be the focus of any particular meeting until the text is read in full by those planning to finish reading the entire book). The initial meetings are set to be virtual, however, in person meet-ups (typical for past discussions) are also able to be coordinated. Feel free to offer any suggestions on alternative days, times, and locations (e.g., return to various DC Libraries to include Shaw NW and/or SW Library; cafes/coffee shops/bookstores, DC private residences).

Also, feel free to discuss other books that you are currently reading including but not limited to topics such as entrepreneurship, business, financial literacy, relationships (e.g., business partnerships, romantic, platonic), conflict resolution, health, personal development, productivity (e.g., habits, routines), accountability, advocacy, community building, community service, philosophy, metaphysics, and spirituality (e.g., faith, testimonies).

Note: The Melanated Investors Monthly Discussion was graciously coordinated by Jason L. and his fiancé Cassandra for the past 4 to 5 years (pre and post pandemic). They are currently planning their wedding, as such--starting January 31st, 2025, assistance is being offered by hosting/co-hosting discussions (they will likely still facilitate some meetings if available). If you, or someone you know, would like to facilitate/co-facilitate a discussion related to any personal development topic do not hesitate to reach out via meet-up messages or phone (optional).

March 2025 discussion co-facilitated by Nicholas Watson of New York--financial advisor.

Also, feel free to reach out via meet-up messages or phone if there are any general questions or comments regarding the end of the month book discussion, thank you.
