What we’re about

Are you ready to enhance your personal effectiveness by transforming your most important, and possibly difficult, conversations — at work, at home, and with yourself?

The Conscious Communication Circle is a Denver-based group at the intersection of communication skills, personal introspection, and deeping self-awareness. We mindfully explore our consciousness and inner world so we can skillfully navigate our outer one. Drawing wisdom from books like Crucial Conversations and Nonviolent Communication, we move from theory to real-world practice in conflict management, leadership, and personal growth.

This circle is facilitated by a former leader from a major tech company with years of experience teaching and coaching communication and emotional intelligence skills to individuals and teams worldwide.

// Who Should Join This Group?
This group is for you if you're looking to:

Lead with greater impact, whether you're a professional, parent, or partner.

Reduce friction and increase connection in your most important relationships.

Move beyond theory and finally put valuable concepts into practice.

Explore the link between your inner awareness and your outer effectiveness.

Join a supportive community dedicated to mutual growth and learning.

// What to Expect at Our Meetings
Our free meetings blend structured learning on a key concept with a supportive "practice lab." In the second half of our gatherings, members can workshop real-life communication challenges in a confidential, facilitator-guided, peer-led environment.

Note: We are a community committed to a safe space for practice, not a substitute for professional therapy.

Join us to practice the art of conscious communication!

Do you want to learn how Crucial Conversations intersects and overlaps with Nonviolent Communication and how you can use both to improve your conversations?

Come join us to enhance your communications skills and learn how these two powerful communication frameworks work together to provide you powerful tools for navigating complex conversations!

The group facilitator is a former communications and emotional intelligence trainer and engineering technology leader with years of experience teaching Crucial Conversations to worldwide participants.

In this interactive workshop, we will explore:

  • The Intersection of NVC and Crucial Conversations - See where the models align, where they differ, and how you can use both to improve your difficult conversations.
  • We will review the NVC and Crucial Conversations models and then delve into a mindfulness exercise followed by open discussion related to these two models.

Our group will repeatedly focus on:

  • The Mindfulness Connection: This is where we go deeper. We'll discuss how simple mindfulness and meditation practices create a crucial "gap" between stimulus and response. This space is where you gain the power to choose your story, manage your emotions, and act with intention.
  • Making Conscious Contact: The ultimate goal is to use these communication frameworks not as a rigid scripts, but as a flashlight to illuminate our inner world. By becoming aware of this process, we can build a more conscious, effective, and authentic relationship with ourselves and others.

What to bring:

Just bring an open mind and a notebook! While this session is based on concepts from Nonviolent Communication and Crucial Conversations, owning a copy is helpful but not required to participate fully and gain valuable insights.

Our Agenda:

  • 10:30am - 11:30am : Welcome, introductions, and an interactive review of the Nonviolent Communication and Crucial Conversations models.
  • 11:30am to 12:30pm: A mindfulness exercise led by one of our group peers followed by a facilitated group discussion and 'practice lab' where we can apply these concepts to real-world scenarios in a safe and supportive space.

Join us for our fourth meeting! It’s going to be an insightful, fun, and connecting experience designed to give you practical tools you can use immediately. We can’t wait to see you there!
