Crucial Conversations - Stories We Tell Ourselves - Conscious Communication
Details
Would you like to enhance your communication skills? Do you have a difficult conversation you are struggling with?
A crucial conversation is one where emotions are strong, stakes are high, and there are opposing opinions. It's common to struggle with this type of interaction. Part book club, part "social lab", the Crucial Conversations Workshop hosted by Conscious Communication Circle can help!
We will explore the basics of a Crucial Conversation and then practice together in the workshop.
The group facilitator is a former communications and emotional intelligence trainer and engineering technology leader with years of experience teaching Crucial Conversations to worldwide participants.
In this interactive workshop, we will explore:
- Crucial Conversations basics and why we tend to avoid them.
- Our "Path to Action" - how the stories we tell influence our actions, and how to intervene in the process to enhance clarity and self-awareness.
- Learn to avoid common storytelling pitfalls that frustrate our best intentions in high-stakes conversations.
- The Mindfulness Connection: This is where we go deeper. We'll discuss how simple mindfulness and meditation practices create a crucial "gap" between stimulus and response. This space is where you gain the power to choose your story, manage your emotions, and act with intention.
- Making Conscious Contact: The ultimate goal is to use this framework not as a rigid script, but as a flashlight to illuminate our inner world. By becoming aware of this process, we can build a more conscious, effective, and authentic relationship with ourselves and others.
What to bring:
Just bring an open mind and a notebook! While this session is based on concepts from Crucial Conversations, owning a copy is helpful but not required to participate fully and gain valuable insights.
Our Agenda:
- 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Welcome, introductions, and an interactive dive into the 'Path to Action' framework.
- 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: A facilitated group discussion and 'practice lab' where we can apply these concepts to real-world scenarios in a safe and supportive space.
Join us for our first meeting! It’s going to be an insightful, fun, and connecting experience designed to give you practical tools you can use immediately. We can’t wait to see you there!
