Remember when flirting was fun? A smile, a little eye contact, playful conversation and that exciting feeling when you wondered whether someone was interested?
Then life happened. Marriages ended, some of us became widowed and others have been single for years. Now we're back in the dating world, and suddenly something that once felt natural can feel surprisingly awkward!
Do we still know how to flirt? Have we forgotten how to recognize when someone is interested? Are we second-guessing ourselves, worried about sending the wrong signal or simply unsure what's appropriate in today's dating world?
After the incredible response to our first discussion, where 112 people joined the conversation, it's clear this is something many of us want to explore.
So let's bring it back!
This time, we'll continue the conversation with a focus on practical tools, real-life situations and building confidence when it comes to flirting again.
What we will explore together:
This is an interactive, participatory conversation, not a lecture. You'll have an opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, hear different perspectives and perhaps discover something you hadn't considered before.
We'll explore:
- How do you know when someone is flirting with you versus simply being friendly?
- How do you show interest without feeling awkward, overly forward or uncomfortable?
- What do you do when someone flirts with you? Do you flirt back or freeze?
- How much do body language, eye contact, smiles and tone of voice really communicate?
- Have dating apps and today's dating culture changed how we flirt in person?
- How can we bring back playfulness and spontaneity without worrying so much about getting it wrong?
- What role do confidence, self-awareness and emotional availability play in attraction?
We'll also look at the importance of reading signals, respecting boundaries and recognizing that not every friendly interaction is an invitation.
Who Should Join?
This discussion is primarily for singles aged 40 and over who are navigating dating again after life has taken a few unexpected turns. Whether you're divorced, separated, widowed or have been single for some time, this is an opportunity to connect with others who understand the dating experiences and challenges that can come with this stage of life.
If you're in your late 30s and relate to this life stage, you're welcome too!
This isn't intended as a general dating discussion for all ages. We're creating a space for people with shared experiences, perspectives and a little more life behind them.
A Note About Participation:
This is a FREE discussion hosted by me, Angela Dawn of Conscious Connections. I believe meaningful connection starts with being willing to show up, participate and be open to different perspectives.
Cameras on are encouraged because seeing one another helps create a more engaging and connected experience. Come ready to share, listen, laugh and perhaps step a little outside your comfort zone.
After all, we're not trying to become someone we're not. We're learning how to let that confident, playful side of ourselves shine again!
Being prompt is necessary. You will not be admitted after 7:45pm for security purposes. PLEASE sign in by 7:25pm.
Join us and let's find out if we've still got it!
