Have you ever looked at your life and said to yourself, “I thought I'd be further along by now”?
Maybe you had a picture in your mind of what your life would look like at this age. The loving relationship, family, career, home, friendships and the financial security. Maybe you thought you'd feel happier, more settled or more successful by now.
You're not alone!
Life happened.
Divorce, loss, career changes, unexpected challenges, relationships that didn't work out or simply a life that took a very different path than the one you imagined.

Expectations we place on others can affect our relationships, but we can also place enormous expectations on ourselves and on how we believe life "should have" turn out.

So what happens when reality doesn't match the picture in our heads?
In this Conscious Connections conversation, we'll explore how our expectations can sometimes keep us from fully experiencing the life that is actually happening and unfolding in present moment.

We'll talk about:

  • The expectations we have of ourselves and the pressure to be further along
  • The “By this age I should have…” timeline
  • Expectations we bring into relationships and friendships
  • Comparing our real life to the life we thought we'd have
  • The difference between having goals and believing life should unfold a certain way
  • How expectations can create disappointment, resentment or unnecessary pressure
  • Whether our expectations are actually ours or something we absorbed from family, society or social media
  • How to recognize when an expectation is no longer serving us
  • Finding more joy in what IS happening in the moment

This isn't about giving up on what you want or settling for less.
It's about asking a different question:
What if letting go of some of the expectations doesn't mean letting go of your goals and dreams but in reality it'll give you more room to actually enjoy your life NOW?

Come with an open mind, your own experiences and a willingness to look at the expectations you may be carrying.

This event will be offered to anyone searching for more meaning and growth in their lives - single or in a relationship.

Let's talk about expectations, reality, growth and finding joy along the way.
Come exactly as you are.
See you there,
Angela
