Welcome Dads! This is a new group startup with the intention of getting Dads out with their children and having the support of community. My name is Michael Shawn, a single Dad with an 8 yr old daughter and a small business owner in Charlottesville. We are ready to meet you and have adventures. The group will use hiking as a baseline for activity ranging from 1 - 6 miles with an open mind to the group and your own interest or comfort level. I am looking for open involvement in ways of contributing to the nourishment of our gatherings. Think of it kind of as a men’s group with their kids present. Do you have a mindfulness practice, write poetry, a creative hobby, a musician, an athlete…you name it. All backgrounds as a Dad have something to share. So, while I am initiating a group for Dads, I receive with an open heart and mind your ideas and support. Excited to hear from you!
