We'll begin our journey with an opening circle and cacao ceremony, practicing gratitude and setting our intentions. We'll move into a gentle, flowing Qigong warm up, then onto our joyful Ecstatic Dance Journey. The event will end with a relaxing sound bath with bowls, gongs and percussion.
A limited number of children's tickets are available.
This is a respectfully alcohol and drug free environment. We move/dance barefoot or with grip socks. Photos/videos may be taken by us during the event.
Qigong
Promoting health, fitness and spiritual wellbeing, Qigong is an ancient movement system with its roots in martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine. It has many health benefits such as helping to drain the lymphatic system and calming the nervous system. It is also a way to connect you back to yourself, to quieten the mind, and to be in awareness of your energy so you are able to be fully present with yourself. This makes it the perfect warm up to an Ecstatic Dance Journey.
Ecstatic Dance
The invitation is to disconnect the mind and connect with the body freely, without self-judgement or fearing judgement from others. Movement is conscious, intuitive and spontaneous as you allow the vibrations of the sound to resonate in whichever way feels right for you. This liberating practice can improve mood, provide a physical work out and improve overall wellbeing.
WHERE: Beech Hill Memorial Hall, Reading (this is on a corner and can easily be missed so please keep your eyes peeled). There's lots of parking on site but please car share where possible.
