Launch Party for Explore It!

Details

I'm excited to announce we've partnered with Pivotal Labs (http://pivotallabs.com/) to bring you a special event for our March meetup. Join us on 3/12 for a talk and launch party to celebrate a new book by Elisabeth Hendrickson (http://testobsessed.com/) on exploratory testing titled Explore It (http://pragprog.com/book/ehxta/explore-it).

Please note we'll be meeting at Pivotal Labs rather than Lookout for this meetup. As usual, we'll mingle over drinks & snacks starting around 6:30, followed by the talk at 7pm.

Abstract:

Rounding out your Testing Strategy with Exploratory Testing

"Exploratory Testing" has made it into our testing vocabulary in much the same way as “session based testing,” “functional tests” or even “test plan” and can mean many different things to many different people, even if they are on the same team. Hear Elisabeth Hendrickson talk about what it means to her and the part it plays in rounding out a solid test strategy as we celebrate the publication of her book on ET, Explore It! (http://pragprog.com/book/ehxta/explore-it).

You might even win your own signed copy!

Bio:

Elisabeth Hendrickson is a tester, developer, and Agile enabler. A seasoned veteran, she wrote her first line of code in 1980, and almost immediately found her first bug. In 2010 she won the prestigious Gordon Pask Award from the Agile Alliance. She is best known for her Google Tech Talk on Agile Testing as well as her wildly popular Test Heuristics Cheatsheet. She currently works as the Head QA Enabler for Cloud Foundry (http://www.cloudfoundry.com/) at Pivotal Labs (http://pivotallabs.com/) in San Francisco.
