About us

Ever been out for drinks or dinner and thought:
“Can we PLEASE talk about something more interesting than the weather, pineapple on pizza, Dave from work or Love Island?”
Do you enjoy the conversations that make everyone lean in, raise an eyebrow or give you that concerned “should we really be talking about this?” look?
Maybe you’re the person who always brings up the controversial topic at the dinner table.
Then you’ve found your people.
🔥 This is a club for interesting conversations, controversial opinions and genuinely curious people.
Politics, Religion, Morality, Society, Culture, Psychology, Conspiracy theories, Unpopular opinions, Current issues, Bizzare hypotheticals… anything goes if it sparks a good conversation.
For example:

• Can you be close friends or be in a successful relationship with someone with very different views to yours? Give your opinions based on your life experiences rather than ideals.

• If you support the narrative “refugees are welcome here” would you house a refugee?

• Is two tier policing a real thing or are people just imagining it?

• Why does mainstream media label anyone on the right as “far right” but there is no “far left”?

• How do you feel about sayings such as “Diversity is our strength”

• Are all cultures and religions equal or are some worse than others?

• Is it wise to import tons of undocumented men at the expense of Women and Girls safety?

• For Women specifically: Have you experienced men of certain cultures harass you more or are more pushy and persistent, or have you not noticed a difference?

• For Women specifically: Do you fear for your safety more now when you go out alone than say 10 or 15 years ago?

• For Women specifically: Have you ever felt ostracised by other Women and so called “feminists” because you want to discuss valid concerns for your safety and your lived experiences?

• Has the British Jewish community fully integrated into our society if they and live in predominantly jewish neighbourhoods?

• Modern feminism — useful or useless?

• Should the death penalty return for the worst crimes?

• Should the UK ban the Burqa and halal salughter?

• Should cousin marriage be banned in the UK?

• Is a Woman anyone who identifies as a woman?

• Should they be teaching kids about LGBT related topics at school or not?

• Is Autism and ADHD over-diagnosed or were people under-diagnosed in the past?

• Will England still be a christian country by 2050 or 2100 if we carry on importing people of other religions at the current rate?

• How do you feel about the term “Islamophobia” is it a real thing or a made up term to silence people? Discuss

• Who would you like to win the next election and why?

• If God is real why does he allow so much suffering?

All of these are example questions that would generally be classed as controversial and are the types of questions we are seeking, of course you can think of your own questions to ask to the group on different topics.

If questions like these make you want to jump into the conversation rather than run away from it, come along.

🔥 You don’t have to agree with anyone. In fact, disagreement is half the fun.
This isn’t an echo chamber. You are free to express opinions that others may strongly disagree with, and nobody is expected to apologise simply because someone finds an opinion uncomfortable.

Challenge ideas. Debate. Disagree. Change your mind. Make someone else question theirs.
The one thing we don’t want is people attacking each other. Name-calling, personal insults, deliberately talking over people or trying to bully others out of a conversation won’t be tolerated.
Hopefully, most of us are mature enough to say:
“I completely disagree with you… but fair enough.”

☕️ No academic credentials required.
No intellectual posturing. No points for using the biggest words you learnt at uni. 😂
You don’t need a degree in philosophy, politics or anything else to have an interesting perspective. We value curiosity, common sense, free expression and good reasoning over pseudo-intellectualism and one-upmanship.
This isn’t about showing off or trying to sound clever. It’s about genuine conversation, challenging ideas and hearing perspectives you might not normally encounter.

🗣️ Come prepared to participate.
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room, but if you enjoy sharing your opinions, hearing different perspectives and getting stuck into a good debate, you’ll fit right in.

🍷 Come with an opinion. Bring an open mind.
And don’t be afraid to say the thing everyone else is thinking.
