If you're looking for place where you can meet the followings, here is the perfect place:
1. Japanese who lived and studied outside Japan for several years or more when small kid, elementary/primary student and/or middle/secondary/junior high/highschool student, and came back to Japan (e.g. returnee)
2. Japanese who lived and studied outside Japan for a year or more when university/college student and came back to Japan (e.g. int'l student/exchange student)
3. Person who is living in Japan and went to int'l school in Japan, and learned English
4. Person who can speak both Japanese and English at native level (e.g. JLPT N1 Level)
5. Person who lived and worked outside Japan for a year or more having native level Japanese and English skills (e.g. overseas expat)
6. Person having experiences of (1) both 1 and 2 above, (2) both 1 and 5 or (3) all 1, 2 and 5
7. Person from country outside Japan, fluent in English (better who is fluent in both English and Japanese?), who wants to meet any person above
8. Person above feeling that going to any kind of English conversation meetup and end up only having self-introduction makes you bored
I, an organizer, used to live in Irvine, California for 6 years approx. when elementary and middle school student, and work in legal/intellectual property field for years using English writing and reading skills, however, not have many opportunity(ies) to speak English and/or tell my overseas experiences to any person even though I've struggled for years maintaining my English skills. I've visited over 20 countries (e.g. Hong Kong 60 times including transits, Singapore 22 times, Sydney 6 times, Helsinki 3 times, Melbourne 3 times, Auckland 2 times...)
I believe that there are people in Japan having something similar to what I'm facing for years. Although depends on person, however, there are people like the above who doesn't have any chance to share own experiences, since for example working at Japanese company, not have many opportunity(ies) to use English skills (including speaking skill) and most of co-workers are Japanese spent most of their life in Japan.
That's why I want to hold meetup where anyone like the above can meet each other to share opinions and experiences. I'm always here to help you each to make the meetup having comfortable atmosphere. In some occasion, I'll bring certain topic to have discussion in English. Basically, share opinions and experiences among people coming to the meetup freely not ending up only doing self-introduction.
(1) Sign-up is "MANDATORY." Thanks for your understanding. Each meetup is up to 6 or 7 people maximum due to capacity reason.
(2) JPY 200 per person regardless of nationality and gender (for meetup organizer fee to be paid every year)
(3) Please order at least 1 beverage per person
(4) To secure comfortableness and safety, no hookups, no networking business related topics/issues, no investment-related topics/issues, no religious topics/issues, no political topics/issues, no introducing other meetup(s) and/or organization(s) whatsoever
(5) This is not language exchange meetup, switching English time and Japanese time back and forth. Here is not for practicing Japanese.
(6) Limited to person between 20s and 40s (for a while, we'll see how it goes, sorry for person in 50s or over)

このmeetupのorganizerである私は、アメリカ・カリフォルニア州のアーバイン市に小学校・中学校の頃約6年間住んでいたことがあり、法務／知的財産の世界で何年も英作文力と英語読解力を使って働いてきましたが、何年も英語力を維持するために頑張ってきたものの英語を話す機会が全然なく、海外経験を話す機会もない状況です。私は20ヵ国以上行ったことがあります(例：香港60回(乗り継ぎ含む)、シンガポール22回、シドニー6回、ヘルシンキ3回、メルボルン3回、オークランド(ニュージーランド)2回など)。
日本には、私が何年も直面してきたことと何かしら似たようなことを持っている方がいると思っており、もちろん人によりますが、例えばあまり英語力(英会話力を含む)を使う機会がなく、日本で人生の大半を過ごしてきた日本人同僚がほとんどの日系企業で働いているがために、ご自身の経験を話す(共有する)機会がない1～8のような方々がいらっしゃいます。
このような理由・事情で、ご自身の意見・経験をシェア(共有)できる1～8のような方々が出会えるmeetupを開こうと思い立ちました。私は、このmeetupが心地よい雰囲気になるようにいつでも皆さんをサポートいたします。時折、私が英語でディスカッションするためのトピック・ネタを持参する予定です。基本的に、このmeetupに来てくださる方々が自己紹介だけで終わることなく自由にご自身の意見や経験をシェア(共有)いただければと存じます。
(1)参加表明・サインアップは「必須」とさせていただきます。ご理解の程お願いいたします。開催場所のキャパシティの問題で、毎回最大6～7人とさせていただきます。
(2)皆さんの国籍や性別に関係なく、お一人様200円を参加費として頂戴いたします。 (毎年Meetup団体本部へ支払うorganizer費用を賄うため)
(3)お一人様につき飲み物1品以上注文してください。
(4)快適性と安全性を担保・確保するために、例外なく、ナンパはNG、ネットワークビジネス関係の話・ネタはNG、投資関係の話・ネタはNG、宗教の話・ネタはNG、政治の話・ネタはNG、他のmeetupおよび／または他の団体の紹介はNGとさせていただきます。
(5)このmeetupは、英会話タイムと日本語会話タイムを交互に設けるというlanguage exchangeのmeetupではありません。日本語(会話)の練習をするところではありません。
(6)20代～40代の方々に限定させていただきます。 (当面このルールで様子をみていきます。50代以上の方々には申し訳ありませんがご理解の程お願いいたします。)
