IS THIS FOR YOU?
- I enjoy learning with others & being in community.
- I take full responsibility for my well being.
- I have a genuine desire to grow and an honest willingness to self-reflect.
- I will not offer advice unless explicitly asked to share my opinion.
- I am ready to appreciate others' strengths & show up in my essence.
OUR SHARED PURPOSE:
- practice the listening and sharing skills that will deepen your existing relationships
- cultivate & enjoy new friendships with kind & thoughtful people you might genuinely want to stay in touch with.
HOW IT WORKS
- Optional: Grab a bite to eat at any of the restaurants in the plaza 6:45pm-7:20pm. Our meeting point is outside of Sweetgreen.
- Organically form small groups of 2-4 people to walk & chat with.
- We will wander around the neighborhood to Victory Park (3300 Park Ave, Tustin, CA 92782) where we will switch up the grouping & walk back to our starting point.
How to have a good time and feel more connected:
- Listen to Understand the experience of the other person. Like you're visiting another country and learning about a whole new world.
- Ask clarifying questions to understand how the speaker feel, how important something was or what they long for underneath the surface details.
- Point out the qualities in them that you appreciate or admire.
- Connect their story to what emotions it brought up inside of you, to similar experiences you've had, to important things to know about you.
- Anchor your conversations in friendship. Notice the urge inside of you to give advice, fix or problem solve; explicitly ask your partner if they need help or want your advice.
WHAT TO BRING?
- An open mind - with a willingness to hold different points of view, paradoxes - that 2 conflicting ideas can be true at the same time
- A warm heart - to share compassion for yourself and others
- Comfortable walking shoes.
Look forward to a satisfying conversation!
