From sparse modeling to Optical Processing Units (OPUs), speakers from around the world share their approaches to building the next generation of ML practice and products.

Hacarus is a Kyoto-based AI startup who create lightweight and explainable AI solutions for the manufacturing and medical industries. Through the use of Sparse Modeling technology, Hacarus is able to extract features from small amounts of data with high interpretability.

Roelof Pieters - CTO & Co-founder at 20tree.ai
20tree.ai is an Amsterdam-based startup on a mission to understand every m² on earth in real-time. They leverage advancements in AI and satellite imagery to help electric utilities, the forest industry, and insurances improve decision making with timely and accurate insights into natural resources. They create, for example, insights into forest health & threats, resulting in more efficient use of resources and limited negative impact.

Igor Carron - CEO & Co-founder of LightOn
LightOn is a Paris-based company dedicated to making Artificial Intelligence computations faster and power efficient. Their vision is to develop sustainable computing hardware for Artificial Intelligence at Scale. LightOn’s first product is a hardware processing unit called the Optical Processing Unit - or OPU, which uses optics-based hardware technology to make AI computations both simpler and orders of magnitude more efficient.

Following each talk, we will moderate a Q&A with each speaker. We will also be hosting a live chat during the event on the Nordic.AI Slack. Invitations to join the Slack will be sent to registered participants by email.
