Corda Token SDK Hackathon (wk6/6)

Details

A 6 week extended hackathon a la Corda Code Club to learn Corda and get experience implementing the Token SDK. Open use case so attendees can come up with whatever idea they want, but teams MUST use Token SDK! Explainer video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQl0H8rQbmI

With Tokenisation currently the hottest topic in town, in the last 6 months we’ve seen Corda-Tokenisation applied to Property, Capital Markets, Digital Identity, Energy, Insurance, Supply Chain and Telecommunications, this is great time to learn how to build a Cordapp that incorporates the fundamental basics of asset tokenisation.

THIS EVENT IS SUITABLE TO BOTH THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO CORDA AND THOSE WITH EXPERIENCE.

THE FORMAT OF AN “EXTENDED HACKATHON”
Every Tuesday evening (6-8pm) for six weeks participants will both learn Corda whilst building their own Cordapp as part of a hackathon-style competition. On the first night you form up into teams of 4 or 5, the general use-case will be presented and on the last night teams will present their final Cordapp to a panel of judges.

A basic Cordapp will be provided to allow developers to focus on solving the business problems.

FOR BEGINNERS
Each team will have a mentor who will be there to introduce Corda to the newbies and help them get to a point where they are contributing to the development of the Cordapp by week 3. If you’re new to Corda and you want to learn this will be an invaluable chance to learn alongside other newbies whilst having an experienced mentor there to help you understand how Corda works in person. Our mentors are volunteers, and although they are extremely experienced at mentoring people new to Corda, naturally your learning is your responsibility, this is not an opportunity to be spoonfed.

FOR THOSE WITH MORE EXPERIENCE
Come with your ideas for that “killer tokenisation app” and be in it to win it. Hackathon winners leave with new unique prizes every time.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
-> Professional Software Engineers interested in Corda
-> Members of the Cordarati
(We will ensure teams have a balance of Corda experience to make the competition as fair as possible)
