We’re heading to Killarney for a full weekend outdoors, camping at Fleming’s White Bridge with a Saturday cycling adventure to Fenit.

Saturday morning we’re heading to Tralee, picking up bikes and taking the beautiful 13 km Greenway to Fenit.

🚌 09:35 — Bus 40 from Killarney
🚲 11:00 — Bike pickup
🌿 Cycle to Fenit
🌊 Explore the coast + optional sea swim
🚲 Cycle back — ~26 km total
🔥 Back to Killarney for another evening by the fire

☕ Sunday — Slow Morning

No organised hike — just a relaxed morning, coffee, breakfast and campsite chill before heading home.

🎒 Bring

Tent + camping gear, warm/waterproof clothes, comfortable shoes, swimming gear, food/BBQ, drinks and €2 coins for showers.

The campsite has showers, kitchen and chill room, with SuperValu nearby.

🚆 Killarney is accessible by train or Bus 40. Taxi from town to the campsite is recommended.

Not camping with us in Killarney? No problem — this Saturday adventure is open to anyone who just wants to join us for the day!

We’ll meet in Tralee, grab our bikes and cycle the beautiful 13 km Tralee–Fenit Greenway all the way to the coast.

🚲 The Plan

📍 10:45 — Meet at Tralee Bike Rental
🚲 11:00 — Collect bikes & start the adventure
🌿 Cycle 13 km to Fenit
🌊 Explore the coast & take a break
🏊 Optional sea swim for those brave enough
🚲 Cycle back to Tralee

Expect around 26 km of cycling in total at a social pace — this isn’t a race. We’re here to enjoy the journey, scenery and company.

🚌🚆 Getting to Tralee from Cork

You can join us directly from Cork without camping in Killarney.

🚌 Bus: Expressway Route 40 connects Cork and Tralee.

🚆 Train: You can also travel from Cork Kent Station to Tralee. Please check the timetable in advance and choose a service that gets you to Tralee with enough time to reach our 10:45 meeting point.

If you’re already joining the Killarney camping weekend, we’ll travel to Tralee together on Saturday morning.

Comfortable clothes, rain layer, water, snacks, swimming gear if you’re taking the dip, and a small backpack.

🌊 One Day, One Little Adventure

13 km out. Atlantic coast. Optional swim. 13 km back.

* Weather depent* I want to get another hard hike in before the winter and this one is a challenging one. I will only take 30 people due to the time it takes to do the hike. The trail starts off in Glengarra something so tranquil about these woods all can you hear is rivers passing by. Then you see crush mountain this will get your heart beating once you get up the top you realise that have go down and back up for Galtybeg and Galtymore. Once get up Galtymore you see great views of Lough Curra.

Bit early but I have something special plan for our annual Christmas hike. This year we are doing the old Kenmare road. This moderate hike that anyone can do. This hike is stunning with breath taking views. This trial takes you along the old wanding road and open countryside. Taking in some scenic rivers, waterfalls and even bit mountains in the distance. The hike is about 9km in total about 3 to 4 hours average.

The plan is start in Killarney and finish in Kenmare. We will have few drinks and food in Kenmare Bay Hotel. A bus will take us back to Killarney.

For this I will be taking a depoist for the bus and meal out for anyone who does not pay will have to find there own way back. A whatsapp group will also be set up.
