Cork based group for hillwalking, coastal walks, boating trips, island hopping, geocaching, camping weekends.
This meetup group is completely free of charge, non-commercial and not-for-profit although some meetups might involve visiting a paywalled location, chipping in for transport costs or staying at a paid camping area.
Members who have been inactive for over a year will be removed, but you can always join again.

And here it happens, we are back in our wild Rosscarbery spot for another craic 😁
We are about to have some fun on a gorgeous wild camping spot right by the beautiful beach of Rosscarbery🏖️
The plan:
We create the WhatsApp group for communication, send me a PM, so that I can add you to the group😉Friday - setting up a campsite with a fireplace and BBQ, party.
Saturday - chillout, swim in the sea, possible cliff walk, another party by the fire. 🔥
Sunday- packing things and leaving the place spotless 😉

-Own camping gear ( tent, matters, sleeping bag, emergency blankets)
-Warm clothes and hiking shoes
-food and drinks (at least for first night and morning )
-fuel (charcoal / firewood / firelogs) - we will figure it out.

1. Do I need my own camping gear?Yes, you do.
2. Can I rent a tent?
I never heard about the tent rental, you have to buy your own along with a mattress and sleeping bag.
3. Isn’t it too cold in October?
It might be a bit chilly in October, however we will be coovered from wind and rain by magic canopies, right next to the cosy fire. Also i know few tips on how to stay warm, emergency blankets underneath the tent makes pretty good insulation from the ground.
4. I have never camped before, can you help me with it?
Sure, contact me and I will help you with chosing a proper gear and give you few tips.
5. Why the WhatsApp group?
Meetup has limited communication options, hence we use WhatsApp to share updates and the plan.
6. Are there facilities such as a shower and kitchen?
It’s a wild camp, however there is a public toilet next to the spot with cold shower Included. Our bbq will be a kitchen 😁
7. Is the place accessible by a public transport ?

8. Is there a food store and offie, where I can get some food and drinks?
The nearest shopping is possible in Rosscarbery 2 km away from the campsite.
