Sci-fi Book Club Launch!

Greetings, fellow sci-fi lovers! Welcome to the launch of Santa Cruz's only science fiction club and only genre specific book club!!

Whether you're new to sci-fi or a seasoned expert, this is the place to learn and geek out over all things science fiction. World-building, human potential, new species, technological advancements, dystopian thrillers, and intergalactic explorations... the sky's the limit for us!
Join us for lively discussions about your favorite books, shows, and films, as well as opportunities to share recommendations and discover new authors.

This month will be our first meet-up. We'll share our interests and curiosities, and pick a book to read (or start reading) for next time. In the future, we might also want to gather for film events. Book Shop Santa Cruz has already offered us 15% off any books we want to read!

We'll be meeting at Abbott Square's back patio. Abbott Square has a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes around the patio. Feel free to grab some food or drink from any of the establishments to enjoy while we hang out.

Since this club is new, I'm are using Meetup's free plan, which only allows 10 attendees. If the spots start filling up, I'll pay for a bigger plan so more can RSVP on here. I also put flyers around town, so we might see some new friends show up unannounced!
