About us
This Costa Mesa Creative Writing Meetup is for those who have a story, concept, or general creative itch they need scratched to help them escape reality for a bit. This group is a place to indulge in your imagination for a bit and create something of your own alongside other writers of all skill levels. Come work on a personal project, brainstorm an idea, or challenge yourself with an unfamiliar genre or style. Whether you’re building an entire fictional world or figuring out your first paragraph, you’re welcome here.
The goal is to write, connect, and help each other’s ideas grow in a relaxed, encouraging environment. All experience levels are welcome. Sharing is optional, and feedback is offered when you ask for it. You don’t need a finished story, or even a clear plan, to join.
I'll try to get events going every other week where we can all meet in person.
A few guidelines:
- AI writing is discouraged for the meetup. Regardless of your stance on AI, this group was made with the intention to encourage the creativity of each person.
- A full story might have a difficult problem or obstacle that needs to be overcome, but please be careful with religion, politics, and other sensitive subjects.
