💧 Hydroponic Agriculture Workshop — NASA Fundamentals (Take-Home Kit Included!)

Details

Welcome to the Hydroponic Agriculture Workshop! Join us at Counter Culture Labs for a hands-on experience in growing plants without soil. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned grower, this workshop will teach you the ins and outs of hydroponic agriculture based on NASA fundamentals. Set up your own hydroponic system, dive deep into the science of photosynthetic lighting, learn about various types of plant nutrients, and explore how hydroponics enables innovations in agricultural companies. You will also take home your own hydroponic system kit based on NASA's Vegetable Production System https://science.nasa.gov/mission/veggie/. And a deep water culture system. That's two kits! Don't miss this opportunity to dive into the world of soil-less gardening and cultivate your green thumb!

Kit Components:
- Pots with reservoirs
- Kimtech Wicks
- Nutricote slow-release fertilizer
- Calcined clay substrate
- Plant labels
- LED lights with canopy
- Photoperiod outlet timer

About the Instructor
This workshop is taught by Anthony Neil Tan, an AgTech professional and graduate from UC Berkeley in Bioengineering. He is a wet-lab biology instructor at all the community labs in the Bay Area (Biocurious South SF, Cellsius Bio Lab Downtown SF, Counter Culture Labs Oakland). He is also an independent research scientist and his projects center on optimizing the cultivation of high-value plants via various horticultural methods (including hydroponics!). His portfolio ranges from designing a plant growth chamber that won a national NASA contest to teaching hydroponic gardening workshops for Student Makers, a non-profit that provides hands-on STEM education for high school students across the United States.
